A historical analysis was used, to test the theory that Iraq and Afghanistan veterans face inter-related problems with regards to mental disorders and societal functioning. As expected, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and substance use were reported within the homeless veteran population. The experience of Military Sexual Trauma has been found to be a cause of PTSD.
